WEEK 2: Schematic Design Drawings & Diagrams

The whole schematic design drawings and diagrams were new to me. I would not have known how to create these diagrams and drawings. I dreaded the assignment at first, but after completing it I realized it was not so bad, I got the hang of it real quick and discovered I actually enjoyed doing the assignment. I think these diagrams make things clear when planning a space and are very helpful in the designing process. The images are compiled of a first and second place space. The first place space being my bedroom, and the second place space being my classroom computer lab. The most challenging part was creating the adjacency matrix, however after doing it 2 or 3 times it became very clear. I think it is easier to diagram a first place space because its more obvious and personal, the second place spaces need some more thought and playing around with.

WEEK 1: Architectural Writting

This Architectural Writing assignment was very important and helpful to my major. Even though I felt like I was back in elementary school learning how to write the alphabet, I found it a little challenging to go back and learn how to properly write again. At the end of the assignment I learned why this would be important to my major. It is very clear writing and leaves less room for confusion in the handwriting. It looks nice and aesthetic, and will look better on future projects than my normal handwriting. I just need to keep practicing to get it perfect and the way I would like to see it.

WEEK 1: Name It

For the NAME IT assignment the class was to assemble different materials and objects that in some way resemble themselves, and then combining these objects together to form a sort of 3-D collage. These pieces should all have meaning and in some way resemble us and our likings. I enjoyed learning about my classmates in this fashion. It actually really helped get to know people a little bit. It was a little challenging figuring out the best and most creative way to describe yourself. I chose a music note made of broken C.D.'s because I absolutely love music of all kinds. I painted the front and the back of the music notes with my favorite colors. I hung the music note on a mug as a garnish to a drink, I am bartender and absolutely love my job, the mug helps represent this. I decorated the mug with a "GO GATORS," I also love my gators!
