Third Place materials board

My third place project was based on a Moroccan themed cafe. The rendered plan and perspective was new for me and really give your ideas a better sense of completeness. They were challenging for me but I am excited to improve and keep practicing them. I figured out a better final logo that works for me as well. I really enjoyed every one in the classes third place project. Everyone has improved so much and has really great ideas. I learned a lot from this project, mostly with perspective drawings and grasping a better sense of scale when drawing a perspective.

Rendered Perspective for third place space

3rd place space projects rendered perspective was difficult for me. I find it hard to draw what I am actually thinking or visioning since this type of stuff is still kind of new to me. The scalee people add great detail and sense of scale to the perspective that I think are very effective. I need a lot of practice to be able to capture the great designs I have in mind.

WEEK:10 Cafe

I picture my cafe on the beach somewhere with a modern and clean look. I want wood beam ceilings, blue stained concrete floors, a nice back sitting area right on the beach, open and breezy. Mahi-mahi is my favorite fish and I think it is a beautiful fish. I want my accent colors to be the color of mahi-mahi. I want lots of natural lighting and a open and breezy inside feel as well.

WEEK 10: Logo Sketches

The class is designing future desired design firm logo's. Right now we only have rough idea sketches. Some of them completely different ideas. I would like to design predominantly near the water, beaches, etc. So my some of mine refer to this desire. I also like very natural elements so included 2 of my favorite natural objects to be incorporated in my logos. I still have lots of altering and adjustments I wish to make to these logos to make them more successful, but I feel like I gave myself a good start. I did a lot of playing around with the letter "D" considering its my first and last initial and my profession, "designer." Danziner is an upcoming nickname my friends are giving me sometimes because I am always at school and designing.

WEEK 8: Furniture to Floorplans

Last week we focused on drawing/drafting correct and actual floorplans. We scaled them down and got really technical. This week we added furniture and closets and whatever else was necessary. There are certain stencils you can buy and use for floorplans that come with most furniture and already scaled objects you would draw in a floorplan space. I tried mine without a stencil and worked on getting the scale as actual as possible. I plan on getting a stencil soon because it can save time and give you a better and more precise outcome on a floorplan. I got to learn different types of doors you can draw for closets and entryways. I never knew what the dashed lines were that you see in closets or over countertops and now I know that they represent something higher in the space that are not below you drawn cut line. I like how official these floorplans look. I see that for next time however, I should use a straight edge for everything, the free handed dimension lines outside the floorplans do not look good, especially drawn next to a drafted floorplan.

WEEK 7: Floorplans

Floorplans are not my favorite types of drawings. They are colorless, boring, and are too actual to add your own style. They are very important though and I enjoy learning how to do them. They are lots of rules and regulations that go into these drawings, and many symbols that you need to learn and practice. I enjoy working with scale, it makes me feel more official. I'm excited to learn how to add furniture and stuff to my floorplans.
